The holidays are coming, but travel and traditional large family gatherings are risky, especially for older family members.  Recent research finds that many families plan to cancel holiday get-togethers this year or shift to virtual gatherings; some will downsize them.

 

How can we make the holidays memorable when it's difficult to enjoy the traditional ways of celebrating?

 

We'll start this conversation with Thanksgiving, then if there's time we'll talk about the December holidays.

 

Some areas to consider:

How is your family planning and preparing for the holidays?

Who will host a gathering at home or by Zoom?

What they are going to cook - or will it be take out or delivery?

Will anyone be traveling?
