We regret to report that our speaker, John Wilson, will not be available as planned.

We have rescheduled this talk for November 13th from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Please register here:

Thank you, and we apologize for the inconveniencee.

King County Assessor John Wilson will explain this year’s property tax increase and the available property exemptions for low income seniors, and will also discuss concerns about potential fraud directed at seniors as a result of the increased tax.

Current Status of Senior Citizens/Disabled Exemption:
2020 Income Limit Change (based on 2019 earnings)

The Legislature has made major changes in the senior citizens, disabled persons, and veterans exemption and deferral programs. These changes will take effect for taxes collected next year, 2020.

The income limit is now indexed to 65% of the median household income in King County. The new limit is $58,423 rather than set at a fixed amount. We anticipate that this will allow more people to be eligible for these programs...."

On the King County Assessor's web site, property owners can sign up to receive the new forms when they're available in January.
